High School: WIE LEAD Academies
***No WIE LEAD Academies are scheduled for Summer 2016.***
The Women in Engineering Leadership Enhancement, Application and Design Academies have been created to provide high school students with the opportunity to spend a day learning and applying principles related to a particular engineering discipline offered at the University of Maryland.
Each academy will have a slightly different criteria that will be outlined at the time of application. Students are expected to have a strong academic background and an interest in learning about engineering.

Programs will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 4:00 pm unless otherwise specified in student acceptance materials. Students will be given all required materials and lunch.
Each academy is $50.
Applications are due by Friday, July 3rd.
- Online Application Form and Essay
Essay should address your interest in attending and applicable experiences, extra-curricular activities and strengths.
**It is important to check for spelling and grammatical errors. Hint: Type your essay response in a word processing program first, review it for errors and then copy it into the text box on the application.**
- Transcript or Most Recent Grade Report
- Teacher Recommendation (optional)
A letter of recommendation from a math/science/engineering teacher describing your interests and capabilities will enhance your application. Recommendations should be mailed in a signature-sealed envelope.
NOTE: Teacher recommendation and transcript not required for students who participate in other Summer 2015 Clark School summer camps.
