Welcome to the Website for the 2012 WIE DREAM Conference!

The Women in Engineering (WIE) Program at the University of Maryland is excited to hold the 2012 DREAM Conference! Our mission is to recruit, retain and advance women in engineering and this conference provides a forum to reach out to students and share the wonderful innovations, applications and opportunities engineering has to offer.

This spring, 500 participants will be welcomed to the University of Maryland campus for a series of workshops, forums, demonstrations and discussions that will truly ignite interest in engineering.

Special Note: WIE DREAM Conference participants that apply and are accepted to the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering are eligible to apply for a DREAM Scholarship valued at up to $2,500!

FAQ's

What does DREAM stand for?
Developing Revolutionary Engineers And Mentors

Who can attend?
Our target audience is current high school sophomores and juniors, although we welcome all high school students. Community college students hoping to transfer into the Clark School may find the conference of interest. We also anticipate that some teachers and parents will attend.

What will happen at the conference?
Participants will have the opportunity to choose from different sessions throughout the day much like a professional conference. Professional engineers, university faculty and staff and current engineering students will lead the highly interactive sessions and demonstrations. Lunch will be provided free of charge. View the 2012 schedule here.

How much does the conference cost?
Due to generous donations from our sponsors and members of the community, we are waiving the conference registration fee for all participants!
