Fall 2015: I assisted a graduate student in the research of high frequency acoustic sounds, under the supervision of Dr. Miao Yu. Our ultimate goal was to determine means by which their accuracy could be enhanced for better use in a variety of fields including medical technology. I designed metal assemblies and ran experiments to gather data.
Career Goals and Ambitions
In Mechanical Engineering, a dream of mine is to assist in the design of new devices, and in the optimization of current technologies that allow people to take control of their own health. Despite innumerable advancements in technology, hospitals are brimming over with patients whose illnesses are in many cases, preventable. I want to design technologies that help with that prevention.
Hobbies Outside of School
I enjoy doing things that facilitate the development of community whether that be through leadership in Cru or by simply planning hangouts and gathering friends. My biggest hobby, however, is to sing and play guitar. I also enjoy writing music, covering cool songs, finding new music and going to awesome concerts.
Favorite Aspect of Being an Engineer in the Clark School
I love the Clark School for its opportunities; they’re endless! I’ve been able to get involved in a variety of different programs and do awesome things that I would not have been able to do if not for the Clark School. I’ve made lifelong friends and become acquainted with amazing faculty. I love the school’s culture and desire to help by giving people within its walls opportunities to experience new things, to learn and to grow.
